About Our Founders

Grandmaster Ralph Bergamo

Ralph Bergamo has been breaking since the late 1970s. Breaking is taught as an integral part of American-Filipino Kun Tao, the main style of both Mr. Bergamo and Mr. Serrano. Mr. Bergamo has been a practitioner of Kun Tao throughout his martial arts career as an avid competitor and winner in local and national competitions. In 1999, Mr. Bergamo introduced “Team Bergamo”, the members of which continue to be among the top breaking competitors in the world. Through their involvement in “The Art of Breaking” and breaking competitions, Mr. Bergamo and co-founder Drew Serrano realized opportunities for improvement of the sport; they had a vision for where competitive breaking could go … hence the United States Breaking Association and World Breaking Association were born.
